What we look at

Common questions

When should I start looking at this?

Around three months before turning 65, or before retiring if that is later. Enrolment windows are firm and missing one can carry a lasting penalty.

What is the difference between Supplement and Advantage?

A Supplement works alongside Original Medicare and covers much of what it leaves. An Advantage plan replaces how you receive benefits, often bundling extras with a network. Neither is universally better — it depends on your doctors, medications and travel.

Will my prescriptions be covered?

That depends on the plan’s formulary, which is why medications should be checked before choosing rather than after. A plan that looks cheaper can cost far more once prescriptions are counted.

Does it cost more to use an agent?

No. Plan pricing is set regardless of whether you enrol through an agent, so comparing options with someone costs you nothing extra.
